Oct 08, 2011 · i am running 125 feet of 2-2-2-4 quad urd. 55' is under ground and the remaining will be straped to the joist under my house untill it reaches where my main 200amp panel is. Should I run the wire in a conduit when it comes out of the ground under neath my house? If so, what size PVC should I use?
To answer this question the size of the cable or the amperage of the load is needed to calculate the correct wire size and connectors to fit the cable. Depending on how many #12 wires you want to go in the conduit will depend on what size conduit is required.

Apr 26, 2017 · In many large-scale developments drawings will be provided detailing the numbers, size, location and types of Electrical Conduit required together with cable jointing pits when necessary. Different electricity regulators in various states require different types of conduits be it profile wall, smooth bore or plain rigid conduits.
Sep 25, 2019 · How high above the roof the conduit will be placed; Temperature Ratings of Conductors. Each type of conductor will have its own temperature rating based on the type of insulation that surrounds the wire. The higher the temperature rating, the higher the permitted conductor ampacity. Typically, wire insulation is rated at 60 o C, 75 o C, or 90 o C.

Conduit is used to protect and support electrical wires. Both rigid conduit and intermediate metallic conduit are threaded and accept couplings, nuts, and * These sizes of EMT have the same nominal outside diameter as the corresponding size rigid conduit. EMT is sometimes called "thin-wall conduit".
Additionally, the ribs increase the conduit's outer diameter (OD) and decrease its inner diameter (ID), which needs to be taken into consideration when calculating the cross-section area. Below is a table with typical values for the OD and ID based on the specified trade size of the corrugated innerduct. So, I had to settle for a conduit cable that is 1.25 inch wide on the outside to fit in the 1.5 inch wide conduit. Now with 1.25 inch on the outside diameter, the inside diameter is 1 inch wide.

Oct 26, 2020 · Wire size is another important factor in determining voltage drop. Larger wire sizes (those with a greater diameter) will have less voltage drop than smaller wire sizes of the same length. In American wire gauge, every 6 gauge decrease gives a doubling of the wire diameter, and every 3 gauge decrease doubles the wire cross-sectional area.
